Independent candidate Balen Shah is leading the Mayoral race of Kathmandu Metropolitan city (KMC) by a margin of over 8249 votes against his closest rival Keshav Sthapit of the CPN-UML.

In the ongoing vote counting, Shah has received 17221 votes so far, while Sthapit is trailing behind with 8972 votes.

Similarly, the ruling alliance candidate Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress (NC) has received 8026 votes so far.

There are a total of 300242 registered voters in KMC but only a little over half of them cast their votes in the May 13 local polls.

So far 44148 votes have been counted i.e. nearly 25% of the total votes fallen.

Is the game is finally over now or there is any hope still left for Sthapit and Singh?
