Niclas Fullkrug breathed life into Germany's World Cup hopes with a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Spain and save the 2014 world champions from a second successive defeat at Qatar 2022.

Alvaro Morata was introduced as a substitute early in the second half and opened the scoring for Spain soon after with a deft finish from a Jordi Alba cross.

Jamal Musiala missed a huge chance to equalise for Germany soon after before their own substitute Niclas Fullkrug hammered in the equaliser with seven minutes remaining.
