Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal of the game as Belgium beat Canada 1-0 in their WorldCup opener.
Alphonso Davies saw an 11th-minute penalty saved by Thibaut Courtois and Canada spurned a string of further chances, taking 22 shots in the game to Belgium's three.
But Batshuayi punished them on the stroke of half-time and Roberto Martinez's side held on to seal the Group F points.
