Arsenal have kicked off their European campaign on a positive note after winning their Group A Europa League opener against FC Zurich.
Arsenal were the dominant side during the Thursday evening, September 8, clash and had their efforts rewarded in the 16th minute when Nketiah carried the ball down the left and picked out Marquinhos, who thumped an impressive first-time finish into the roof of the net.
Having played a big part in that opener, Nketiah went from hero to zero when bringing down Fidan Aliti to concede a penalty, which Kryeziu slotted in to level up the contest.
However, Mikel Arteta's side grabbed the winner they deserved in the 62nd minute as Nketiah and Marquinhos again combined. The Brazilian whipped a ball towards the back post where Nketiah was waiting, and the 23-year-old rose highest at the back post to head in.
