Kathmandu,
July 20,
For the past decade, there was usually a crisis of investable capital for a few months after November-August. However, in the first month of the financial year 2079/80, banks are experiencing liquidity crisis. Since the first week of July, due to the lack of investable resources, banks have reached a situation where they are unable to give loans.
At the end of the financial year, when the development expenditure of the government increases, deposits also increases and at the beginning of the financial year, it is considered as the time when the investable resources in the banking system become easier. In the previous financial years, the banks, which could not invest in loans due to lack of resources from the second quarter, have to deal with the same problem from the beginning in the current financial year as well.
