Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died after being shot while campaigning in the western city of Nara, the NHK broadcaster has announced.
Shinzo Abe had showed “no vital signs” after being taken to hospital, official said earlier. He was reportedly shot twice by unidentified attacker while the former Japanese prime minister was delivering a campaign speech.
NHK reported Abe’s death on Friday, hours after the 67-year-old was shot in the chest and the neck.
