India reported 18,930 new coronavirus cases and 35 more virus-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The death count now stands at 5,24,305, according to the Union health ministry of India.

Currently, there are 1,19,457 active cases in the country, comprising 0.27 per cent of the cumulative case count. The recovery rate stands at 98.52 per cent. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.32 per cent.

With 1,144,489 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on July 6, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,983,318,772. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,921,977 — or 98.53 per cent of the total caseload — with 14,650 new cured cases being reported on July 7.
