Stating that the Cannibal tigers behaviour has improved in Chitwan National Park, the park has released four tigers in their natural habitat this year. The park has released four of the seven tigers it has taken under control this year.

Chief Conservation Officer of the park Haribhadra Acharya said that even though four tigers were released in the fiscal year 2079/80, three tigers are still in the cage of the park. "The remaining three tigers have not been released as they are cannibals," he said. Conservation Officer Acharya also informed that a satellite collar has been attached to the neck of the tiger that was left in the forest.

He said that after attaching a satellite collar to the tiger's neck, the whereabouts of the tiger can be ascertained through software in the park. Of the three remaining tigers in the cage, one was brought from Banke and two from the area around Chitwan National Park. Conservation Officer Acharya informed that the released tiger was released only after studying its habits by keeping it close to humans.

There are two tigers in Kasar, the headquarters of the park, and two in the eastern sector of the park, Sauraha. Some more are in the making. In the current fiscal year alone, 16 people have been killed and 11 more injured in a tiger attack in Chitwan.
