Today, June 21, is the longest day of the year. Today is usually the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere.

While the temperatures may already feel like summer, the official start of the season begins on Tuesday in the Northern Hemisphere — an event known as the summer solstice. 

During the June solstice, the sun travels along its northernmost path in the sky for the northern half of the globe, which results in the longest day and shortest night of the calendar year.  

According to the Weather Forecast Division, the sunrise in Kathmandu will be at 5:09 today and the sunset will be at 7:03.The time between sunrise and sunset in Nepal, today will be 13 hours and 45 minutes.

From tomorrow onwards, the day will get shorter and the night will get longer.
